PRP and hair-related issues

Dr. Albert Einstein was famous for what he accomplished. As time passed, his hair became famous too. For PRP patients, however, hair can be a source of great despair and frustration. Some of us loose our hair and cross our fingers and hope it will return as it was. Some of us buy wigs. Others will shave what remains and “re-boot”. If the loss of hair was an issue on your PRP journey, then we offer the following:

HOW HAIR GROWS
Murray R (British Columbia, Canada) woke up one afternoon after his obligatory afternoon daily nap and decided that PRP patients who were worried about losing hair should know how it grows in the first place.  Note: Murray’s daily nap is a habit he began during his PRP journey and decided to continue the tradition.
Did you know that you lose about 50 to 100 hairs a day. That’s because the follicles don’t all grow hair at the same time. Each scalp follicle grows hair for a few years and then takes a break. When a follicle is on a break, the hair in the follicle falls out. LEARN MORE

NO HAIR — DON’T CARE

Loss of hair can have a negative impact on the quality of life of any PRP patient. For some, however, the challenge of hair loss can become a catalyst for something positive. Helen G (Mays Landing, New Jersey) became a “No Hair” advocate. As a teacher in a school with a dress code she simply asked her “boss” if she could wear a hat or anything that made her feel comfortable. School administration said “Yes” to her request.
