Has anyone with Juvenile onset on here gotten a tattoo? And if so how did it affect your skin? I really want to get one soon but don’t know how it would affect me.

I got one on the top of my foot and my leg but my prp is only on the bottoms of my feet and hands. I haven’t had any issues with them at all! I do have a small spot on the top of my foot that my tattoo covers and I noticed it did fade a little faster. I’m sure if I keep getting it touched up it would be fine.
Thank you. I want to get one on my back where I am a bit dry but not flaky. It’s going to be just black ink so here’s to hoping it won’t fade too bad
IMHO — I would get it! Just make sure you moisturize often. At the place I went they have you use aquaphor for your tattoo which I heard was good for PRP.

My Husbands tattoos have faded. The red in the tattoo has completely gone and the writing is unreadable. Just wondering how everyone elses tats survived (those that have them of course)? I think they just have to be touched up later 🙁
I’m having a flare, and have the same concern…
Julie D — Seattle, WA
Mine have luckily not been touched by the prp and I hope they don’t ever be. But I’ve always wondered what would happen if I got a tattoo over a prp area.

My husbands has them and he pilled liked a snake every 3 to 5 days and his tats are still very good and the color is still great. His color didnt fade at all.
Nicola G — Central Otago, New Zealand
Mine are fine but the PRP was never that bad where they are.

Hi Mandy, oddly enough a couple of years before I had my first full flare one of my two tatts became really raised and inflamed for a week or so… The area (right shoulder) was not any different from the rest of my skin during my flaring time. It’s almost like my skin was deciding what it needed to attack and arrived at its whole self as a target…
Did they fade after peeling Eric T Stebbins?
No, they seem fine really. I’m kind of surprised at your husband’s reaction. Type of ink, maybe? I did ask my artist if he had ever seen anything like it before and he had, claimed it was an odd thing that happened once in a while but it does make me wonder.
Maybe ink type. They are also over 25 years old.
Deborah B — Kannapolis, NC
My ‘Beauty for ashes’ tattoo has PRP bumps! The ink was faded before I got PRP. I may touch it up when this is all said and done.

If I ever get a tattoo I’d be almost expecting to piss off (trigger) the PRP demons just lurking in its hiding place…”cell block Card14″ or wherever 😉
Mike T — Greenfield, MA
My red tattoo faded away BEFORE PRP. The black one was hidden by the deep red “rash” but is now visible again.
My daughter asked me if I am getting another tattoo when this is done since that will be another momentous occasion in my life! (One tattoo was after the divorce, and the other is a matching one my daughters and I have) Hmmmm….not sure i want more skin pain or irritation after 13 months of just that!
Meagan W — San Luis Obispo, CA
Prp seems to like my tattoos 🙁 butterfly has lost most of the red on the bottom wings. Other tattoo has lost some of the black outline. Hoping to get them touched up someday.
No automatic alt text available.

My now husband’s hasn’t faded at all. I’m very surprised as his skin was peeling 2-3mm thick! They are still clear as day
Just wanted to ad that the tattoos made a full recovery afterall. My husband completely covers himself from head to toe with cetaphil moisturiser even now, and his skin is better than it ever was.
My tattoos have survived a peeling. Still nice bright pink. Thank Goodness.

I wanted to take the time to post this for you guys. I know I am not one who has a bad case of PRP but like I’ve seen others before me say, everyone is different. I remember when I first joined this group I remember someone asking about PRP and tattoos. At the time no one with it never had gotten a tattoo so no one had answers. Well I thought I’d share with you my journey. I got one three days ago.
Laura B — St. Cloud, MN

So far it’s been a week and it’s healing normal. But keep in mind I did put it somewhere where I’m not red at.
